On holiday at Studio 17 in Spain
I keep my agenda as free as possible whilst models are here to be able to provide whatever they wish.
Some just want to go to the beach every day - beautiful golden sand - so am happy to take them & pick them up later; others want to sunbathe in private on our roof terrace; then there is our pool of course.
But with lots of places to see and go, many more want to fit in as much as possible with photoshoot opportunities everywhere as well - e.g.:-
In Rojales we have a large parkland with caves, woodland and good views; also the unique artists' caves village.
Nearby is the red salt lake - popular with many of my models for shoots - or lemon groves.
Then further afield, there are ruins, inland sea (Mar Menor), black sand beach; or mountains and inland scenery; or historic towns like Cartagena; or Novelda with its Guadi-esque chapel with stone organ, castle with triangular tower, modernista house, etc.
The art classes are on the Saturday of the stay in my home studio, with two sessions - 11am to 1pm & 2pm to 4pm - each with poses from 5 to 45 mins.
I believe people should be paid for their work & I pay artists' models the going UK art modelling rate at 15€/hr for the 4 hours.
As I also feel professional photographers should be paid for their work, I only offer TF for photo models to balance our fees.
(N.B. I don't personally need to shoot any more beautiful models, but I enjoy it )
And when possible, we like to take models to see any Spanish-type events that may be on - fiestas, dance shows, etc.
We usually have our main meal of the day around 8pm & Barbara & I enjoy cooking. Probably barbecues and a paella etc., and may eat out once or twice too.
